Meet Bert

order to protect the goats when we move them to the far ends of the property, we found a llama. We didn't want another dog as we would have to stop and feed every day instead of now being able to stop by every few days. Llamas are great protectors, and a friend of John's found this three year old male (he's red and white)
and now we found our goat babysitter!!

Here is the new area we moved Molly and the gang to until Bert arrived.

Fall in Missouri

This is one of the things I like about our move back here - we do have all seasons. This is the cherry tree at the north end of the house and outside the back porch.

Hay Barn - next phase

So now we are ready to dig holes and raise the barn (so to speak!)

Building the hay barn

I will show this several posts 1) so it's not so many pictures at one time 2) so all the pictures make sense and 3)we are building it in parts!
We laid out the posts, marked them for the bolts, drilled the holes and square it up it before raising them into place.

Jerry's new farm project

Jerry's newest project is a paint stude - almost two years old. He goes over to the Roszells twice a day (most days) to walk the colt outside for water. We will now need to add to our horse area to have a stud room.

Soybean harvest - 2007

We did pretty good with this year's soybean harvest, a crop we didn't know much about, hadn't planned on planting yet yielded very well for the area we planted our lack of knowledge. However, we learned a great deal and developed a great relationship with a neighbor.

Moving Molly

Here are a few pictures of goat pen: being built for Molly's new friends (9 girlfriends and a Billy) available to them
